The ORP Orzel was the lead ship of her class of submarines serving in the Polish Navy during World War II. Her name means Eagle in Polish. The boat is best known for the Orzel incident; her escape from internment in neutral Estonia during the early stages of the Second World War. It was launched on January 15; 1938 year in the shipyard De Schelde in Vlissingen Dutch. The unit had a total length of 84 meters and could plunge to a depth of 100 meters. On February 2; 1939 the ORP Eagle began service in the Polish Navy. In June 1940 he was lost along with its crew during a voyage in the North Sea.
This new model from COBI is faithfully reproduced in 1:100 scale and consists of 1;240 blocks. Once completed; the model measures 84 cm in length. The set comes with an esthetic; black exposition stand with a sign on which is printed the name of the ship. Because of its size and complexity; the model is recommended for veteran collectors and experienced fans of blocks. It does not require gluing or painting.
