The Valentine is a British infantry tank; built in a variety of marks (or variants) during the war. Used extensively in the battles of North Africa it had a reputation for being a well-protected vehicle; capable of operating under heavy enemy fire. As the war progressed the little Valentine was surpassed by larger tanks; capable of mounting heavier guns and more armour.
